AGM September 20th!!!

Hello everyone! It’s that time of year again!!

Our AGM (Annual General Meeting) is coming up this September 20th, 7pm at the Sola’s Banquet room!!! Mark it on your calendars and be sure to come out!! This is the time to join the Board, as well as the opportunity to have your voice heard about the direction we would like to take with our League!!

**We would like to remind all players, there is a big change to the new bylaws with the change of the Societies Act this past November 2016. Our only current voting “members” are now strictly the Board of Directors for the League. However, ANY registered player, referee, or individual seeking to see our League grow, can submit in writing to the Board, their wish to be a member of the DCASL Society, so that they may have voting power. For that, please email the League at info@dcasl.ca ** If you have any questions about the process, AGM, or changes with the Societies Act please email the Board at info@dcasl.ca

TOURNAMENT & YEAR END PARTY

Hello Everyone!

Our Tournament schedules for Friday and Saturday have been posted!! I would like to apologize for the delay – we had to re-confirm some of our Stats, and this new mother desperately needed a nap before double checking & posting online! Stats and schedule can be found to the right under the Quicklinks tab!

The DCASL Board, and myself, would like to briefly touch on some Tournament etiquette before we hit the fields next.

  1. There will be ZERO tolerance for insults, slurs, or swearing to another Player, Captain, or Referee!! These will all be punished with a red card, which result in two game suspension – the one currently being played, and the next one scheduled. And yes, a player CAN be carded on the sidelines. If a non-playing spectator is being disrespectful in these manners, the Referee has the right to eject them from the fields.

  2. Every team will be expected to provide a full team roster of fully registered players with name & jersey number to the Referee before the game starts. All jerseys must have a number, if there are limited jerseys, a taped on number will be allowed. Referees will provide the rosters at the beginning of each game.

  3. There will be no Female Acquisitions allowed during the tournament.

  4. Every game must have a winner, so there will be shootouts in the event of a tie. Each team must have at least one female shooter for the shootout.

  5. There is zero smoking or drinking allowed on the fields. Please save that for our Year End Party at Boston Pizza!

That’s everything!!! We hope to see you at our YEAR END PARTY at Boston Pizza!! Doors open at 6:30pm – We have a Live Band – The Mechanical Botanicals – will be playing all night!! $20 tickets in advance, or at the door. Daneka Hussey or Jade Zingre with the Menchies (pink & green striped jersey) will have tickets for presale!! Daneka can be reached at 250-219-7693, and Jade at 250-329-6442.

We hope everyone has a great Tournament, we can’t wait to kick off!!

-Jade Zingre, DCASL President

MAY 12TH GAME CANCELLED

Hello Everyone!! It is official, we have decided to CANCEL tonight’s games.

This was not an easy decision for the Board, considering the High School’s Zones Tournament that is currently happening. There is way too much standing water on the fields, all of field 2 is flooded, and the rain keeps on coming down. Watching the high school students play, the game is seriously impeded when the ball stops in the standing water, and the fields are taking a beating.

We hope that everyone understands our situation. We strive to keep everyone happy and playing. We will see you next week, May 19th. The schedule will be adjusted to reflect the two missed games this year, so please make sure you have the current one from our Quicklinks tab to the right.

Stay dry!!

May 5th & May 12th Games!!

Hello Players!!
You may have heard by now, there is No Game Tonight (May 5th), because we have had to push back our season’s start date until May 12th! Unfortunately, this came down to a few reasons, but the biggest was that the fields will not be prepared in time. To make up for our missed game, we have added the May 19th date to the schedule! These first three games in May are what seed you into your tier, but the standings will not count towards our season end tournament. Please go to our Quicklinks tab to the right, for the schedule!

Another heads up, is that there will be a High School tournament finishing up, right before we play on May 12th. Their games start at 4:30pm, take up the full size of both fields 1 & 2, and will finish right at 6:00pm. Please be aware, there will be NO room on these fields to practice or warm up on, as there usually is. So come warmed up, stretched, and prepared to start as soon as these games end at 6pm.

All Captains, PLEASE BE AWARE: your Sports Field User Agreement Forms are due to us before you play!!! ALSO, ANY TEAMS found playing with UNREGISTERED PLAYERS, will be given an automatic FORFEIT!!! We will be coming around to all games in May to enforce this! If you have late players to add to your roster, or there are any individuals looking for a team, we have a Registration Desk available at all of these upcoming games, at the middle of the fields by the Message Board!!

That’s everything for now! If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at info@dcasl.ca at any time. See you all on the 12th!!

7 vs 7 Delayed until May 12

Our apologies, but unfortunately, due to the lasting snow, we will not be able to start the regularly scheduled season until May 12. The soccer fields have not been able to dry properly, and have not yet been prepared for the season’s use.  Accordingly, we have decided to make up the lost game day of May 5th, on May 19th.  The latest schedule is posted below.

DCASL 7v7 Schedule May 2017

We will be manning a registration desk at the fields before and during the games all season.  Players must register and pay before playing.  Any teams playing with unregistered players will forfeit.

This May schedule is for establishing teams positions in the competitive and recreational tiers as we have had some new teams joining the league this season.  So game outcomes may determine what tier a team plays in but will not affect their final season standings.

Also, the fields will be open Friday, but no lines will be painted yet.  So if your team wants to scrimmage they will be able to.

See you on the fields!

Player Registration Forms

Attention Players! It has come to our attention that people are trying to drop off their registrations at the CO-OP Main office.

The Drop Box that was available at the CO-OP, was taken down on April 20th, on our team registration deadline!! There is No place at the CO-OP to leave your forms or payment!!

Any individuals or players with LATE registrations, can bring their forms and payment to the Registration Desk that will be available on the FIRST DAY OF PLAY at the Soccer Fields!!

We will be confirming our first day of play, as soon as we have confirmed that the fields are open, and properly prepared for our season.
We have had a bit of a delay due to the late snowfall, and appreciate your patience in starting off our season as soon as we can!

We will see you all soon!
